Question I can't get a wireless connection

I have just installed Ubuntu 9.10 on an old Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop using the whole disk.I had Windows XP before.
I got an ADSL internet connection without any problems, but not a wireless connection. I am using a DWL-G650 cardbus adapter.

Can anybody help?

Best wishes
Klas

What have you tried so far? Is the wireless connection encrypted? I don't remember what the default wireless manager in Ubuntu is, but I have always found wicd to be the simplest and most reliable wifi manager. If the connection is encrypted and it's using wpa check to see if the wpa_supplicant package is installed or not.

Check This

Well affinity is right WICD is the best I know of. Well first check this: see if you cards are recongnizing any WiFi connections, if they are there should be a little arrow next to them in which it will aske for a key or encryption: type your key and see if connects

BEST OF LUCK!!!!
