No - we are not saying that - but it is true ;)

What is "it"in your post - your browser?
In that window (Tools --> Downloads) you have the option to right-click and select: Open Containig Folder)
Is it there - which one is it - the path to it?

See my last post - I tell another way how to find the place your browser will download all files to - since you seem not to know that place.
To find out whether you really have a problem downloading anything please do the following:

- find any file you like on the web (picture, archive, mp3 ... whatever)
- right-click and select: Save Link As
- take note where it is supposed to go - or select the place yourself
- download it
- open your file-manager and navigate to the place you saved it to - if you got no errors while downloading the file

Is the file there? - If not: what error did you see? Where did you want to save it to?

By "it" I mean whatever I download in general.
When I open the "containing folder" it comes up with archive manager, or the file roller thing.

Also, I've never right clicked on anything and gotten the option of "save link as" before. So you kinda lost me on that part.

With that I suggested to give that a try if you never did that before.
Try it right now - right-click on this page you are reading now - right here - and select: "save page as"
A file-browser will open and tell you where it is going to be stored - you can also use this browser to create new folders and to store the page wherever you like (as long as the place is in your home-directory).

Then - since you just saved it - you know where to find it. Close your browser. Open your file-manager (Konqueror, Nautilus... whatever) and see if it is there.

Give an example - where is the folder? What is its name? What is in it? Please give the files name and extension!
If the file is an archive - it is only normal that fileroller will open it if you click on it.
But this will not happen if you just open the folder.

If that still does not help you you need to describe the problem you have using an example everyone can follow from start to end.

I am more familiar with Ubuntu than SuSE. But, I am a little confused. Are you trying to just download a data file, like a word processor document? Or are you trying to install a new application? If it is the later Yast is really the way to go for a newbie. If you have problems with Yast maybe we can figure out where the problem is. A specific example is the way to go.

Also what version of SuSE as you running?

...noone really knows what the actual problem seems to be - thats the problem ;)

You could have said "save page as" before. That's a lot less confusing.

You're confusing me.
I don't understand what it is you want me to post.

It's an application, I have SuSE 10.3, and the main (and only) problem I have with YaST is that it freezes. Always. I've tried everything and I've already gotten lots of different advice from others, nothing works.
I have to force quit out of YaST everytime.

Would you mind looking at the title you gave your thread?

You where getting suggestions and you never objected to those being on the wrong track.
I'm sorry to have added confusion now myself - I was certain that we where talking about a general browser (and downloading with it) issue.

...talk about me confusing you...

Instead it seems to be some installation problem with Suse and Yast.
You never got specific on those data even after being asked.

You should start over by explaining what you want to do ultimately, then tell how you where going to achieve that, then what happened instead of what you think should have happened.

I don't use Suse and don't know Suse well enough to give advice with Yast related things - therefore I'm out now.

Good luck! (though it does'nt have anything to do with that)
