Start a new thread in the Debian forum.
Give details of graphics hardware,driver etc.
And don't forget to post any errors ie cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log
You know the score.

i got fluxbox working now but its low res and slow slow slow.

I had this problem when I installed compiz.
Go to the compiz config settings manager (in system -> preferences - > compiz config).

Click "General Settings".
Go to "Display Settings" tab.
In "outputs", it's probably listed as 640 x 480. Change it to whatever your desktop res is, left click on the 640x480, hit "Edit".


As for drawing the screen slowly, I have no fix for that.
However, it only happens to me when I'm running conky, but sometimes it doesn't at all for some reason.
