Remember when I said you should spend some time researching whether things would run under WINE? Well, sadly, iTunes doesn't -- at least not in any way useful for making phone backups:
https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManag...ation&iId=1347
You may find a utility which can backup an iPhone on Linux but you're generally stuck with a supported Windows version or OSX if you want to use iTunes.

ok then that brings me to my question i have 2 icons on my desktop now from itunes and i all ready flushed the wine bottle. Well that is what the link i was reading said the command did. can i just delete the itunes icons?

then my other question is she wants to get her canon printer working so she can print coupons. But in all honestly i am just learning how to install and remove things on linux from terminal. How would i install print software is my question i will add the model in a few mins i need to find the link on there site.

http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consum...ersAndSoftware

it says the printer is installed all ready but it is not printing how can i check and uninstall and reinstall the printer and software and drivers?

I'm afraid I've not removed iTunes from and install as I've not installed it, but this link to the Ubuntu forum should give you some more ideas -- generally I think you would either use the iTunes installer itself under WINE to remove it, use WINE's own uninstaller (which I didn't know it had, I have to say) or just delete everything.

^ not really sure i follow. if the printer is not connecting via usb then you are not using usb to connect to it.

not sure where you got this output:

lsusb ? (lsusb is supposed to list the usb devices connected to your pc).

i havent used a printer in years so i am not sure how to connect one wirelessly. maybe someone with more expertise will comment soon.

@OP - try to connect with a wire, just to see if THAT works.
Follow these steps:
- conect the printer
- power up the printer
- find the printers app
- add the printer (you may need to log in)
- choose from the list of manufacturers then in that list the printer...
- accept the invite for a test page...
Wireless printing is not really for beginners, I'm afraid...
Besides...

I got the printer working I am using older drivers but they work now.

now I need to know why my terminal. dose not let me enter some commands in the password box when trying to enter root with sudo. it just wont type or show any thing. I think I am on the beta of the new os. but lets go that i am on the older one. can you explain to me how to fix this can I just update the terminal or no.

I am trying to update flash. can someone here also give me the command for that please. so i can check if what I got is what I need.
