This is not urgent for any members on this site who donate their time to help others. Please do not demand urgent attention. Also please use useful and informative titles.

Hi,

Could you please check your post for grammar and spelling before you actually post?

That aside, can you start X? This is the process that will get you a graphical interface.

To start X, use the command: startx

If it shows any errors, please post them here.

Hi

Please read the LQ rules (see my signature).

If you don't write clearly, people will not understand what you're asking for.

Also no post is deemed "Urgent" in this forum. We are a community who help people as and when we have time.

I suggest you post a few screen shots that shows what you want to do.

Hi guys
thanks for your observations and for the help you've given me about checking my spelling before I post and those things about which words to use and which not. I do understand that you give your support as and when you have time.

Thanks

Now i have a better idea. I am stuck in GRUB. I can't bot neither with Ubuntu nor with Windows. All i want is to exit grub and bot on windows or Ubuntu. Can somebody give me a hand on this. I will be very greatfull to know.

Akon

Could you post the contents of your GRUB file please?

It is usually this file: /boot/grub/grub.conf. Since you cannot boot from hard drive, you will need to use a LiveCD or flash drive (USB) to boot. After booting, find the file and read it's content using: cat /boot/grub/grub.conf. Please paste all that shows up on the screen here.

If you get any errors, please show those.

In Ubuntu notice that it's automatic setup in firefox (no need to setup addons, like in windows) - that's "user friendness" :P

backing to the topic, this may help: http://www.supergrubdisk.org/

Did you have some version of windows as well as Ubuntu previously installed? Did you install Linpus on a separate partition? Did you install it on the partition you had Ubuntu on?

It's not really clear from your initial post if you can boot into Linpus?
If you can and simply cannot boot windows, you will need to put an entry in the grub.conf or menu.lst file of Linpus for windows as indicated above.

In your second post, you indicate you are stuck in Grub so does that mean you cannot boot anything?

According to what I heard, Linpus is a total piece of **** compared to other distros.

Better stick with Ubuntu (or Mint, another nice newbie-friendly distro).
