What happens if you ping wine.sourceforge.net?

tried to ping in TERMINAL
GOT REPLY; unknown host Am I correct to try to pin in terminal? Thanks Cato |
Unless you have some new graphical ping utility the terminal is perfectly acceptable. Unknown host usually implies that the hostname could not be resolved and that you should check your DNS settings for accuracy. Try doing an nslookup on the hostname you tried to ping and see what the results are.

I got IP address as 127.0.0.1
Cheers Barry (Thanks for your patience) |
You got this IP on what interface? 127.0.0.1 is the loopback address and is always associated with the lo interface. Are you running DHCP on your main ethernet interface?
Regards, Alunduil |
Hi Sorry for delay I have been working away. Yes DHCP is enabled on ethernet interface
Cheers Barry |
What kind of address do you get on your primary ethernet interface?
