I am getting the following error while executing the drop1.tcl program. Plz help me t


I just installed ns-2.34 in fedora 16, but when i tried to run a sipmle program it gives an error:

"nam: no display name and $DISPLAY environment variable"

how to remove this any solution please.

$ ns drop1.tcl : Works OK here. Nam opens.

But : If you are doing the command 'ns drop1.tcl' as root (su),
do not expect a GUI applications like nam to work.

The default location for ns-allinone-2.xx is /home/<name>/<dir>/.
And all commands are to be run as unprivileged user.
