Question I'm trying to install freetype...help?

Hello!

I need freetype installed to install pango, to get gtk+ going.
pango says it cant find fontconfig.pc
Am i installing freetype in the wrong directory?
Which directory should it be in?
Thanks!

Are you trying to install it from source or using a package?

fontconfig.pc comes from fontconfig, doesn't it?

freetype is usually prefixed at /usr (the default) but sometimes /usr/local.

> fwiw
Code:
[8] sero:~ $ locate fontconfig.pc
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/fontconfig.pc
