I'm new...help!
 

All I want to do is change my default icon set. There seems to be no where to do this.....I changed the Theme no problem under 'prefrences' but what about the icons... I see an Icon folder and I've put my downloaded icons in there....but what now??? I'm running RH8 and using GTK2. Help....I'm new and desperate!

if u use kde then press control center -> appearance and themes -> icons
then there is install new theme button , if this doesnt work then u will find a readme file with the icon set telling you how to install it.

I'm using Gnome ... and there's no icon ab under themes. I checked in the icon directory and I don't see any install files.....:(

have u checked the site that u downloaded from it the set , as there could be install instructions there.
whats the site and the name of the icon set as i havent used gnome ?

If you're going to mess around in a big way with the look and feel of your desktop, then I would switch to KDE.

go to teh GTK web site and dl some themes for gtk2, i think som of tehm use difrent icons (at least i thought i saw at elast 1)
