Sounds like you need to install libcurl. I am not familiar with CentOS, but I suppose it has an official repository and an application installation manager, right? Use it to install libcurl.
Alternatively, you can open /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf or /etc/httpd/conf.d/php.conf (I am not sure which) and delete or comment the line that loads the libphp5.so module. Of course, that is not an acceptable solution if you know you are going to use PHP.
