HP5550 printer suddenly not working in Suse

I have Suse 8.0 loaded on my computer. I was able to print a test page and everything seemed to be fine for a week but suddenly it stopped printing. I can find all my jobs in the printing que but can't get the printer to print them. My son loaded SUSE into my computer and I can do some basic stuff but nothing too complicated so please make it simple. Thanks. Ruth

I got it working

Thanks for reading this post but I was able to switch it on in the printer manager by using the root user. Somehow it was switched off. It said Status: stopped - so I figured it out. Thanks again. Ruth
