HP Pavolion dv7 : intel wireless unstable

Hello,

I notice that after about 10minutes having boot up my HP pavilion, my wireless becomes unstable.

I also have packet loss when I do a ping :

hp pavilion dv7 has two models with different processors amd or intel which one do you have? this will determine exactly the model of your wireless device because data you presented are not enough
check the following link....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HP_Pavilion_dv7

I am still trying to identify your wireless card accurately..so please help me

jonaskellens 12-23-2012 06:38 AM

Hello,

my model is not present on the wiki. I have pavilion dv7-7180eb.

Should be Intel processor (i7-3610QM) and Intel wireless.

kareempharmacist 12-23-2012 06:44 AM

do you have any windows installed on the notebook?

I've seen that post. The ucode-file is installed on my system.

kareempharmacist 12-23-2012 07:13 AM

this is the file u want
http://intellinuxwireless.org/iwlwif...18.168.6.1.tgz
After opening the archive, I copied the iwlwifi-*.ucode file to /lib/firmware/
Then I ran `modprode -r iwlagn` followed by `modprobe iwlagn`

kareempharmacist 12-23-2012 07:15 AM

you have to check the version of the file may be the link contains an updated driver which fixes the problem

kareempharmacist 12-23-2012 07:28 AM

type the following command in a terminal
Code:

ls -l /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-*.ucode
this is to check the version of file..may be the newer file fixes the problem.

jonaskellens 12-23-2012 07:35 AM

[Jonas@jonashp ~]$ ls -l /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-*.ucode
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 707392 Jul 20 17:51 /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-2030-6.ucode
