hp pavilion dv7 has two models with different processors amd or intel which one do you have? this will determine exactly the model of your wireless device because data you presented are not enough
check the following link.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HP_Pavilion_dv7 I am still trying to identify your wireless card accurately..so please help me |
Hello,
my model is not present on the wiki. I have pavilion dv7-7180eb. Should be Intel processor (i7-3610QM) and Intel wireless. |
do you have any windows installed on the notebook?

this is the file u want
http://intellinuxwireless.org/iwlwif...18.168.6.1.tgz After opening the archive, I copied the iwlwifi-*.ucode file to /lib/firmware/ Then I ran `modprode -r iwlagn` followed by `modprobe iwlagn` |
you have to check the version of the file may be the link contains an updated driver which fixes the problem
|
type the following command in a terminal
Code:
ls -l /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-*.ucode |
[Jonas@jonashp ~]$ ls -l /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-*.ucode
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 707392 Jul 20 17:51 /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-2030-6.ucode |
