hp-laserjet printer 1022's offline status

Dear All,
Here, I have successfully installed the Linux(Fedora),but when I'm
trying to take a printout ,first of all it is not printing and it is showing in the status forum : PRINTER IS OFFLINE .
Though, when I'm checking it through "lpq"command it is displays,
(ofcourse,after giving the print )
"HP laserjet printer 1022 is ready and printing "
While, without giving the print "lpq",gives --
"HP laserjet printer 1022 is ready NO entries."

Ok...what version of "the Linux" have you installed? Fedora 9,10,11, what?? How is your printer connected? (USB? Serial? Parallel?) What model laserjet? How did you set the printer up? How are you trying to "take a printout" (through what program?)

You're going to have to provide some detailed information, before we can help you.

Not sure, but perhaps http://localhost:631/ (your local common unix printing service, aka cups), would be helpful.
