Smile HP f4140 blinking lights indicate internal hardware issue.

After the initial start-up of my HP F4140 printer, the on/off, the resume, the black/photo, and the color icons blink. Also the copy # icon indicates an error. I have contacted HP customer service and we ran a diagnostic. It said id was an internal hardware issue. since the printer is out of warranty, HP will not tell me what the hardware issue is. Can anyone tell me what the internal hardware issue is. I would rather repair the printer than purchase a new one.

How is this a Linux issue? If you've got an old, broken printer, I think you've got few options other than to replace it. If HP doesn't support it (and they built it), how is anyone else supposed to know how to repair it???
