2- To install new version of squid?

If I go to http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v3/3.0/ web sites i can see

I am confuse under differ column i can see diff(sig) and under Download column ar.gz(sig) / tar.bz2(sig).

use this commands,
Remove cmnd

"rpm -e packagename"
or
"yum remove packagename"

Install cmnd

"rpm -ivh packagename"

or
"yum install packagename"

which you have seen in the websites that all are zip files

"Being a new user I want to know"
my suggestion not to remove but upgrade

FYI tar.gz and tar.bz2 these are the compression images file
which you can download and extract to your local system before you can install it
after you extract it look at the file call README

normaly with command make and make install ,

then other thing is "sig" mean signature file normaly not really need
