howto auto-launch a script when usb key inserted?

i have a script that i want to launch automatically upon insertion(mounting) of my usb key. usually after mounting my usb key i fire up konsole, then type:

cd /media/sda1
./backup

How can i automate this?

In KDE, autorun settings can be found in the Control Center > Peripherals > Storage Media.

thanks for the advice. unfortunately its a knoppix dvd im booting from. any ideas?

AFAIR you can save parameters on a floppy in Knoppix. You would then have to change the .KDE-file and save it there. During boot you can activate a help screen -- look there or in the internal documentation for saving on and restoring from floppy.
