How would I access PDF files in Windows from Mandrake 10.1

I have a number of Linux books in PDF form in Windows. I have Windows and Mandrake 10.1 Linux as a dual boot and can only run one OS at a time. How would I access those books from Mandrake so I could use them as ready tutorials for Linux. I'm new to Linux so please explain in basic terms. Thanks.

Just mount the windows partition read-only.

Don't understand what you mean? I use Windows XP.

Well ... you can mount the partition from Linux, if it's
FAT you can r/w, if it's NTFS you can (out of the box)
commonly only read it.

Have a read of
man mount

mandrake should have mounted them for you

check in folder /mnt or /windows

if you didnt find it then post here the contents of /etc/fstab
