how to write a password installing kwrite


hi,
im using ubuntu and i have to install kwrite and when i write apt-get install kwrite i have to write a password but it doesnt let me press any key in my keyboard
if anyone can help me please....

thank you

It does allow you to type things; it just doesn't echo anything back.
