how to use valgrind tool over a exe which is started with start_daemon


hi,

I am trying to run valgrind tool findout memleak for a executable which is run from start_daemon process.. thanks in advance

Ok...so what's the problem you're having doing it, on what version/distro of Linux????

Read the man page for valgrind. You run it "valgrind <program name> <program options>". That's it.

i was using suse 10.2 version any how I am not using start_daemon to start the valgrind.

Again, what is the problem you're having??? Fine, you're not using "start_daemon"....whatever program you're running, valgrind works the same way. Read the man page.

If you have a shell-script that starts a program, you put the PROGRAM into valgrind, not the shell-script/start script.
