How to use libc.so.5 apps with kernel 2.4

Just settling down with Fedora Core 1. I downloaded some old rpms that need libc.so.5 like xfishtank and xmysql. They dont install on my setup because they need libc.so.5 whereas the system has libc.so.6

In what way can I make those apps install and run on kernel 2.4 ? Do I download the libc.so.5 and install that? Will I botch up the system if I do this?

TIA

Uday

search rpmfind.net for the "compat-gcc" package.
