The update command is

rpm -Uhv kernel*.rpm
I would recommand a kernel update with "yum", this one will install the new kernel parallel to the old kernel. If you go for the update method with "rpm -Uhv kernel*.rpm" you have to boot directly after the update because modules of the old kernel are being removed.
