How to upgrade from Firefox 1.0.7 to Firefox 1.5.0.4 on FC3?
 

I've tried upgrading Firefox 1.0.7 from Mozilla's website. But when I extracted the files, it gives errors.
There's a firefox-1.5.0.4.tar.gz file. How do I unzip it?
How do I upgrade the Firefox icon on FC3's Actions/Internet menu?

Change directory into the one you want to extract the files to and run 'tar -xzf <firefox-blah.tar.gz location>'. Once you have done that, you need to create a symlink in /usr/bin/ to the firefox script in the directory you extracted the files. I have'nt used Gnome in ages, so I'm not sure how to fix your icon issue.

Has anyone done this (upgrading FC3's firefox to the latest version) successfully ?

I have a server that's continuously in use that need to have its firefox updated, so I probably only have one shot to make it work.

If someone can share the info on how they did it, it'd be really great indeed.
