how to update to latest firefox version on slackware 14.1

Hi all,
i try to update Firefox from 31.4.0 to 48.0 , but it always shows me that the version is 31.4.0. Used roario's script but the same. Download it from mozilla, unpack and double click on "firefox" icon and again when enter on help>about firefox, it show the version 31.4.0

Although "double-click" is used in the desktop it is not the usual way in the case of installing packages. If I were in that situation <as I did always> these I do:

1.Download from herehttps://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo...getfirefox-com the latest firefox <tar.bz2> with pre-built binary.
2. Remove or de-install the running firefox, your distro has a way of uninstalling the firefox, do it the normal way.
3. Go-to the downloaded folder of latest firefox, open up a terminal and extract:
Code:
tar -xjf *firefox*.tar.bz2
sudo cp -r firefox /opt
sudo rm -f /usr/bin/firefox
cd /usr/bin && sudo ln -s -T /opt/firefox/firefox-bin firefox
Launch the firefox anywhere and you are now running the latest.

Hope that helps. Good luck and enjoy.
