Fedora is very similar to Scientific Linux (in that it is an RPM-based distro), but always includes the latest KDE.

hey mate, there is a couple different ways to get what you want. if you aren't very experienced, your best bet is to switch to different distribution that uses newer software. if you are more experienced (then you probably wouldn't be asking this question) you could compile the newer kde in your current distribution: or you could mix repos. mixing repositories can cause many issues which is why I only suggest it if you know what to do and can fix breakage.

Anyway, you can see screenshots and downloads and stuff here: http://fedoraproject.org/ I just kind of threw Fedora out there as a suggestion because, to be honest, I'm not exactly sure how to upgrade KDE in Scientific Linux (which I do actually use, but with Gnome desktop) without risking some instability/breakage. But did you know that even older versions of KDE are very flexible? Check out here for some suggestions: http://kde-look.org/ |

Thanks for kind comment. Actually I am a bigginer. After installing apm and some tools, I spend most of my work time. So I am always bigginer of linux. About changing different distro, it's very diffivult for and take so many time for settings and transfering data. I think I should wait for SL's update. |
may I ask why you desire to update kde? is there any particular reason? I ask because we may be able to improve your kde experience without you updating.
