How to uninstall YUM?

I'm trying to find YUM to uninstall.. i went to Add/Remove Applications and can't find it in there... this "Add/Remove Application" is horrible, it's so difficult to find apps to remove.....

"rpm -e yum" on the command line will probably do the trick.

Why do you want to remove it, btw?

i just want to reinstall it because i think i might've screwed up the conf file beyond repair =) thanks btw...

yum >= 2.5.3 is needed by (installed) pirut-1.0.1-1.noarch

what should i do?

rpm -e pirut, it's the GUI frontend. You can install that once you've reinstalled yum. If you want.

You could install CentOS into a Virtual Machine and copy the .conf files you want to replace, onto a USB stick, and then copy the .conf file to the right place on your real system.

Edit: did'nt see the date (2005), oops.
