How to UNinstall VirtualBox.run?

OpenSUSE 11.2 64 bit.

So, I have mistakenly deleted the VirtualBox.run install file, so I cannot run this command now:
Code:
sudo ./VirtualBox.run uninstall
Now I manually deleted all occurrences of the VirtualBox from my comp, but:
Code:
linux-uitj:/home/anisha/tarBalls # updatedb
/usr/bin/find: `/home/anisha/.gvfs': Permission denied

linux-uitj:/home/anisha/tarBalls # locate VirtualBox
/home/anisha/tarBalls/VirtualBox-4.1.0-73009-Linux_amd64.run

linux-uitj:/home/anisha/tarBalls # ./VirtualBox-4.1.0-73009-Linux_amd64.run
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing VirtualBox for Linux installation............
VirtualBox Version 4.1.0 r73009 (2011-07-19T10:45:56Z) installer

You appear to have a version of VirtualBox on your system which was installed
from a different source or using a different type of installer (or a damaged
installation of VirtualBox). We strongly recommend that you remove it before
installing this version of VirtualBox.

Do you wish to continue anyway? [yes or no]
How to get this completely off my system? Please help.

When you run the command "locate VirtualBox", that's all locate will look for. Not all files installed by VB will have the regex VirtualBox in the file name.

Try searching for the regex vbox as well; also make the search case insensitive: locate -i vbox:

In your other thread re. VBox you mention two versions:
Version 3.0.6_OSE r52128.
VirtualBox-3.2.8-64453-Linux_x86.run
Which is the one you've got installed? I think the OSE versions are usually installed through the package manager. The .run (PUEL versions) usually put most of their files in /opt/VirtualBox, and modules in /lib/modules/uname -r/misc.

What a remarkable observation you have Brian, I just didn't notice that the versions were different!
I'll reply to rest of the post when I am in office tomorrow.

Other suggestions :

Install the Suse "vbox" : # zypper in virtualbox
( Or # 'zypper in virtualbox-ose', if it still is Suse 11.2 ).

Should overwrite the files ( or some of the files.)

rpm -ql virtualbox : Will show all the file names and locations.
And you can uninstall the Suse version with # zypper rm virtualbox

May be also remember the files in /home/ : ~/.VirtualBox/
And .... /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/3rdparty/vbox/vboxdrv.ko

..
