How to uninstall program compressed with tar.gz

Someone here ? How do I uninstall tar.gz program that I have installed ? I want to change my installation of Mozilla to a different release. Is there a way to uninstall program without leaving a lot of things in my system.

Hi ronronson,

A "tar.gz" program sounds like a source tarball. I dont think this is the case for you right?

When you installed mozilla, you probably used the pre-compiled version provided by mozilla.org, right? If so, you extracted it to some directory. All it takes is to delete it. Mozilla stores profile data in a separate file for every user, so this should not be harmed by this step. (If you are not sure where you put the file, do a search for "mozilla". It's probably in "/opt/mozilla" or "/usr/local/mozilla" or "~/.mozilla".)

Good luck,
