I would assume it's something like

yum remove perl-BerkeleyDB

tho you might want to do

yum search Berkeley

first to double check the package name before you proceed.

The default installed "Berkeley DB" is db4 : rpm -qi db4

Removing db4 is impossible, the kernel will be removed too :
Code:
# yum remove db4

Transaction summary
=====================
Remove 717 Packages

actually I want to install squidGuard with squid .Durning installation the squidguard give db4 error message but already there is squidguard installed in the system by default db4. If I search in google as well i see some few steps for Squidguard 2.x.I even download squidguard 2.0 and extract it. After ./configure when I apply #make command it give me db error

Code:
[root@localhost squidGuard-1.4]# make
making all in squidGuard-1.4
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/squidGuard-1.4/src'
making all in src
gcc -I.. -I. -I. -I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB/include -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -g -O2 -I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB/include -c main.c
gcc -I.. -I. -I. -I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB/include -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -g -O2 -I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB/include -c sgLog.c
gcc -I.. -I. -I. -I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB/include -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -g -O2 -I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB/include -c sgDb.c

make[1]: *** [sgDb.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/squidGuard-1.4/src'
make: *** [all] Error 1
[root@localhost squidGuard-1.4]#

With squidGuard 2.0 it also give me same error

any think in your mind to hemp me in this regard

Are the prerequisites installed ? ?

# yum install db4-devel bison byacc openldap-devel flex

'squidGuard-1.4' compiles OK (takes only 5 seconds) on CentOS 5.5,
whatever it's a 32bits or a 64bits OS.

rpmbuild -bb squidGuard-el5.spec : OK too, using the source SRC.RPM:
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu...8.fc12.src.rpm
> squidGuard-1.4-8.fc12.src.rpm

..

File Type: txt squidGuard-el5.spec.txt (10.6 KB, 16 views)
