I decided to try Linux, downloaded cinnamon mint and installed it [as dual boot with win10]. Everything seemed to go well, except I couldn't access my files from the hard drive. I tried various things to uninstall but nothing worked, so I kept reinstalling so I could boot. I need to either find out how to access my files from Linux, or uninstall it as it is next to worthless, maybe install another version of Linux if it is less likely to have the hard drive conflict.
(edit\add: one method) to uninstall hope you have a factory rest (OR BACKUPS,) look up factory rest with your computer's name and model number... may wipe everything!?

Reason: added first parentheses in and last warning :hattip:
When you say "access the files" do you mean microcoughed-losedough$ files from Linux; you will need to mount that partition... Mint likely does it by default but perhaps not in wm\Cinnamon?
In addition, you have to disable fast startup mode to be able to mount a Windows 10 NTFS partition when using mint. The normal shutdown mode actually hibernates the drive.
