how to unable printer under openSuse 10?

Hi!
I rune openSuse 10 and I got today the message "printer is not ready". I know that I should do /usr/bin/enable but there isn't any "enable" anywhere on my system! What am I supposed to do?
thanks in advance.

Is the printer correctly configured ?
Was the test print correct ?
In some version of opensuse it makes a print queue and than you have to
start the printer overthere.
All you're print jobs are hold until you start it .

Alright the problem occurs suddenly.
But what happens when you do test printing using yast>harware printer ?
If it do not works delete the printer and configure it again.

sounds like a "Microsoft's solution": just make a new installation!
How come there isn't any "enable" script in Suse. I alread had this problem with FC and the problem vanished as it came after I did "/usr/bin/enable printer".
It will probably work with your solution but how often am I supposed to do it since it always come without apparent reason?!
thanks anyway for your time.

You only mention that you use opensuse 10 , but witch version of opensuse
10.0 :10,1: 10:2 : 10:3
Opensuse 10.0 is rather outdated now , no longer supported.
Opensuse 10,3 is a improvement if you compare it with opensuse 10.0
Now we are at opensuse 11.0 with is even better than 10.3 if you use KDE 3.5

thanks for your answer. I use openSuse 10.3. I don' t want to upgrade it. As I said the printer worked fine until now. If I could find a command similare to /usr/sbin/enable" then the printer would work fine again.

got it:
Quote:

sudo /usr/sbin/cupsenable printer
Now it works fine!
