how to trace e-mail msg?

Hello...

I need to know how can see or where to look for all the info about a mail msg that has been received by my server? I'm getting two msgs constantly (virus e-mail) and don't know where to look for all the info.

Thank you for your answers.

best regards,

Uros

P.S.: Oh, and did I mention that I'm a :newbie:

You need to find a way to look at the mail header. How you do it depends on your client software.

Hello...

thanks for the answer....how do I check what software I have...when I log into the linux box as admin, a have normaly one msg waiting...one had a header, but it seemed like it came from my domain, but from an user that doesn't exist..and the other seemed to have no header...but I know it must have had a header.....on the first there was an error msg...could not deliver mail, quota full (webmaster)....., but webmaster has an unlimited quota..

I need to trace the msg back to its origin..is that possible?

Can you help a little bit..gee, I have a lot of problems??

best regards,

Uros

A lot of times, the header of spam and the like is spoofed (i.e. made to look it's coming from somewhere other than where it is actually from). You should google around a bit to find ways to get around it. Here is one link on the topic:
