How to start with linux?
hello frdnz,
i want to do some projects on linux kernel. since i m new to linux os, plz help me by suggesting that how to start with linux i.e. how do i learn linux os basic from scratch. thank you... |
quite a huge jump from not having any linux expereience to doing kernel projects, but at the most basic level... just use it. Pick a distribution like Mint, and the more you decide to look under the covers to find out how it's working, the more you will learn.

Hi and welcome to LQ!
If you're new on Linux, you should start to use it (and learn it). A good choice: slackware + tldp |
Hello my friend,
I will suggest you to start with CentOS (Red Hat), which is a great linux flavour to deal with! Do you have any plan? What are you planning to do with your Linux System? Regards, Leonidas Papoulakis |

I have used Ubuntu to start with Linux, however most of us agree that to start learning Linux , the better approach would be to use mint/centOS. Also I would suggest to refer to some study material for basic Linux commands and basic architecture (specially if you coming from Windows world) |
