Hi,

read documentation and train yourself by installing a minimum of 2 machines in your home network. Configure as many different services as possible. Learn programming on min. one administrative language like perl, shell, ruby or python.

If there are problems re-read documentation, try again.

This is what helped me in the last 20 years in *nix.

1. Get copy of RHEL (paid for) or go Centos (free version of RHEL).
2. install
3. read/learn http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_boo...ion/index.html
