Greetings all. Bit of a technical question here.
Let me describe my current set up.
OSes:
Windows XP Pro SP1 (I know, I know:
)
Red Hat Fedora Core 1 - fresh install
PC:
Dual Pentium III Mobo
2 x 933 Mhz Pentium IIIs installed
512 Mb RAM
2 x 60 Mb HDD
SoundBlaster Live! sound card
Large collection of SoundFonts
My attempt is to set up Linux in a similar fashion (as far as sound is concerned). I want to use a primary 25 Mb SoundFont (containing all 128 MIDI instruments) and replace the classical guitar with that of a second SoundFont.
Does anyone have any experience in this area? I intend to use soundfonts for recording music. The basic sounds the card produces by default are unacceptable for what I'm doing. Any further questions about equipment and/or software will gladly be answered in order to assist.
Many thanks.
And, while you're at it, adjustments to be made to other soundcard parameters such as reverb, chorus and the like would certainly be useful info. A url directing me how to do all this would be most welcome as well: no need to write a tutorial if it's already been done.
Thanks again.
