How to set up internet connection manually in FC5

I am using broadband, but since I only have a modem connected to the phone line , everytime I want to connect to the internet using XP, I have to type in my username and password.

How to set up my connection manually in FC5? So that when I want to connect to internet in FC5, I just need to click on the shortcut link on my desktop and type in my username and password, and can connect to internet.....

Can you confirm that you are on broadband - and not on ordinary dial-up?

When I used dial-up and Windows XP I too had to give a username and password. Now that I use broadband my service is always on and I don't have to give a username and password.

When my family first got broadband (ADSL), we had to use a username and password with the modem. In fact, with our ISP now, we still do but the connection is always on, since our router is always connected.

jojojo, I'm not sure, but you may need to use pppoe.
