Everything is working fine except the monitor always keeps popping up a message saying that my it is not at optimal resolution and that its optimal resolution is 1680x1050 at 60 Hz.
I think I may need to download drivers, but what kind. Are they on the additional drivers in the system settings menu?
My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce 7025 and I am using Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit.
It's under System>>Administration>>Synaptic tab on your menu or task bar.
You can also change your monitor resolution under System>>Preferences>>Monitor
You can get packages through software center also but it appears synaptic isn't installed by default in ubuntu but can be installed. I use it more than software center because it's easier to find what you're looking for. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SynapticHowto
did you read the link I posted? If you want to learn linux you better learn to search then read versus asking all the time. If there is a language barrier tell us. Not trying to be mean, just speaking from experience and trying to help.
I tried downloading the recommended driver, and although that made things work faster, it still did not give me the higher resolution I wanted and made my libreoffice crash all the time, which I don't know why.
I tried adding the resolution, but the terminal says that the command isn't valid.
