how to set min 10 character default password

Dear Friends,

due to security purpose i want to set default min. 10 character password on server

how and which config files are change setting for this

when ever administrator run passwd command they don'y except min. 10
character password .

kindly help regarding this .

The password authentication is usually controlled by the pam_cracklib module. You have to add the minlen parameter on the relevant pam configuration file. On my CentOS 5.3 system it is /etc/pam.d/system-auth
