As per the Admin book link in my prev post, the default mail server (aka MTA) is sendmail and is normally part of the std install.
Read Chap 23.

Try these to check your install
Code:
ps -ef|grep sendmail

rpm -qa|grep -i sendmail
What sort of tool do you want to send email with eg GUI or cmd line?
