Everyone is right. I would like to apologize to OP, and to onebuck for my comments. If checking the checksum is part of your procedure, that is cool. Everyone is different. I for one do not, but mostly it's because I have never had a negative download/burn. I guess I have to learn that one the *groan* way, yeah? :-)

When I read our thread from the beginning, I see the kind of thing that normally turns me off of forums - a lot of bantering and nerd-wars.

Hopefully he gets a good disc, and can proceed with the install. I just have concerns with the amount of RAM in the system. I was checking RAM prices for laptops recently, and I saw the cost for PC133 (which is what it appears he has) is so low, he could easily max the RAM in there for very little money, and would see an improvement right away.

What do you guys think?

Hi,

Yes, the increase in RAM would be important. More the better for older hardware, no matter the OS. It was suggested by several in earlier posts.
