how to see partitioned hard disk
 
dear guys
i have just installed linux mint.
original os was win vista and 3 hard disk partitions but after installing the partitions cant be seen and neither can be accessed.

any ans!!!!!!

Using...

If you use Mint as a live-cd and use the command "sudo fdisk-l" in a terminal what do you recieve for results? Can you post them? You can also use a live-cd such as PartedMagic with "fdisk-l".

In a worst case, you may need to restore your partition table using Testdisk. Do not try to write anything to your HDD before you attempt to recover your partition table.

How did you install mint? It gives option to manually partition the disk. Did you not use it? Did you allow Mint to partition the disk and use it completely for itself? Login into mint and then type
Code:

sudo fdisk -l
and give the output here. You will need to provide with the password of your own login.
