how to save changes on ubuntu?
 
I installed ubuntu on HP Mini this afternoon.
I changed settings of mouse, click shut down, disconnect USB, and click enter.

I turned ubuntu back on, changes I made were gone,
also,
Google chrome i downloaded was gone.
will u help me how to save them?

Are you talking about running Ubuntu from some kind of removable USB device? I am not quite following you here.

Dumb question on my part ...

... but if you installed from a Live CD

... did you remove the CD after installing to your hard drive?

Are you sure you did the changes - and the download - to the Ubuntu on your hard drive?

Live CD's create a RAM image that *look* like a hard drive ... but instead writes everything to memory. The contents of which disappears every time you reboot.

Just a thought .. PSM

How?? Using the usb you refer to? I'd agree with paulsm4 that you were probably making changes on the non-persistent usb so they weren't saved. To get any actual help, you would need to give more detail starting with how you installed. What you describe is exactly what one would expect when using a CD or non-persistent installation usb.

Don't get the above statement. shut down, disconnect USB click enter?? while shut down?? A little more information on exactly what you are doing or what is happening.
