How to restore windows xp boot record?
 
Hi,
Today I just install the Mandrake Linux, but some how linux graphical interface is not working (I think some files missing in the cd package).. I remove the linux sucessfully, now I want to restore the windows XP Pro boot record so my system returns to its normal condition i-e linux loader must be removed...

I try the FIXBOOT C: command in Windows XP setup recovery console but still I am getting the same Mandrake loader :( how I can completely remove it as it like ir nver be installed before :D ?????? any idea..comments??

I don't know about windows XP, but with windows 2000 you could type fixmbr in the recovery console.

Yes I know about it, but when I try to use it, it give the warning that your other partitions may be lost if you continue this command.... :( I don't want to take the risk... I want a confirmation about it, that if I use it my data or other partitions will remain safe.. :)
