Lightbulb How to respond to a keypress on bluetooth device?

I have a wireless bluetooth headset. There is a begin/end call button on the headset. I'd like to set up my computer to respond to the pressing of this button by starting to record speech from the mic into a .wav file (such as /somewhere/11-02-2008/00001.wav).

How do I do this?

I don't know much about bluetooth, but are you trying to simultaneously pair the headset w/ both the phone & the computer?

That would be rather interesting too, but no, in fact I just wanted to reconfigure the pair button on the headset to run a program or script of my choice when I press it; beyond establishing a connection, of course.

But I already have difficulty getting the headset to establish that connection and receive sound at all, so I guess I'll defer hacking the button that until i can do lfs. I'm still very clueless on linux at the moment, almost as clueless as my parents vis a vis computers overall. School keeps getting in the way of me concentrating on playing around with linux.

Cool

If you find a solution or even a partial solution, please don't forget to post back -- it sounds like an interesting idea.
