Yes agree backup bios first. Many pc's provide means to do that when flashing the bios, some automatically backup the bios so pay attention to what is taking place when flashing provides the details. Key words in my prior post "Assuming that exe file is the correct bios." whereas the incorrect one can cause system failure. Not likely to take the OS and everything with it, just makes the OS unbootable, the data is usually recoverable via another pc, an external docking station, etc. I've used Dells flash utility via Windows and walked away while it was doing its thing and never had any problems not a few times, same with Asus in Windows - in Linux I do it via the BIOS.

I would have thought you would be the last person in the world to admit to using MS's Bing.

I tune motorcycles with Microsoft. Search results mentioned LQ a few times which I found surprising. Retiring tomorrow so working on motorcycles is going to take a back burner to
to starting a pet day care business. More fun and less work involved as I cruise into retirement. I'll still help on motorcycles if asked nicely and the money is right.

But I am warming up to the pet day care center idea in the coming week. (I'll be the only one for a 70 mile radius for transient oil field workers who brought their pets with them)
