Basically i wanted to uninstall Suse linux 9.0 (dual boot with xp - c: XP, d: Suse) so i deleted the linux paritition using parition magic and now when i restart the computer iv got the following error: GRUB version 0.93 (639k lower / 326592k upper memory) [Minimal BASH - like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else Tab lists the possible completions of a device/filename.] grub> How do i get rid of Grub and get Win xp working with out formatting the hard drive? I would really appreciate any help? And before anyone asks i was uninstalling Suse so i could install Redhat 9.0! SoulPioneer |
Just install XP - it will replace the linux bootloader. Youdon't need to uninstall anything.

i dont understand what you mean by just install xp? Xp is already installed on C:?

Do a search of FIX MBR or FIX BOOT there are tons of them.
|
...........put in your xp cd
...........hit "r" for recovery console ...........type fixmbr ..........reboot wihtout the cd ..........update your antivirus (couldn't resist) |
if u were uninstalling suse to install red hat, why dont you just install red hat over suse instead of fiddling around in partition magic. that way, red hat will overwrite grub and windows will boot ok.

from windows, fdisk /mbr
