How to recover from this...
 

HI,

I recently formated windows XP partition and my lilo has disappeared from mbr. I would like to know how do i reinstall lilo,
so i can boot my linux partition again.

I'm not having any ideas atm, so i'd apreciate your help :)

PS: i don't have my linux boot disk, that's why i don't know what to do :(

If you use Mandrake or Redhat you should boot from CD and chose rescue. You may want to go to the website and look for details.

What distro are you using? That will help a lot.

Slackware 9 :D

I know that you have to boot froma boot floppy and reinstall lilo. There are other threads telling you how to do this. I'm not much good on Slackware, yet.

Do a search for 'lilo windows install' adn you should find something, if noone posts a fix here. Linux is still there you just need lilo back to tell it where it is. This is a very common problem.
