How to read the content of a file with conky

Hi everybody! I'am "tunning" my conky, it's really funny.
I have the idea to put a TO DO list in it.
My idea is make a list in a single file, and then, read it from conky, putting the content in the desktop. Really easy, isn't it?
The problem is that I have not idea how to do that, if it's possible...
If someone can tell me which is the text I'll thank you.

I think what you are looking for is the exec family of variable for conky.

The simple way to do it would be
${exec cat <path to file>}
Then customize it to suit you.
execi lets you specify refresh interval.
You can also try playing with sort, if you like sorted todo lists.
${exec cat <path to file> | sort}

I combine the tools from http://todotxt.com/ with sorted list in conky with great success.
