How to read SD cards in CentOS?

Hi there,

Just want to know on how to read SD cards in my CentOS box?

I have a Dell T7400 that has an SD card reader built in:
http://www.dell.com/us/en/business/d...00&cs=04&s=bsd

I have inserted the Sdcard but seems to not automount or recognize it in the system.

HDmicro SD 16GB.

Did a fdisk -l and df -H but only found my local drives.

Particularly wanted to format the card for this reason.

Please advise.

Thanks.
DB:)

There are SD cards and SDHC cards(not exactly positive on the name). All the cards above a certain size (2GB?) are of the SDHC variety. A SDHC reader will read both SD and SDHC cards but a SD card reader cannot read SDHC cards. I suspect that you have the older hardware.

Thanks for the response.

According to Dell, this is an Internal USB Media Card Reader 19:1 that Wave systems manufactured.

Probably the easiest way to check is to find a small (64-512MB) card and try it. If it works, then you know. If it does not it is a hardware support issue.
