how to reactivate text-login?
 
How can I reactivate the text login for Redhat Linux 8?
Ive chanced to graphical login at the installation...

btw: how to chance the refresh rate? I didnt want to work at 60hz all the time.

Change your default runlevel to 3 in the /etc/inittab file.

Run Xconfigurator at command to reconfigure your settings for X.

And BTW, this is asked all the time, quick search would have found many posts regarding this.

You can use vi, pico, vim.. and any other editor that you installed on your system. Every system is installed with vi though usually by default.

Actually pico is not part of the default install anymore!?! VI is really the only option unless you added Pine under the Non Graphical Internet package selections.

remember :wq is your friend in VI.

Refresh rate should come up correctly unless you do not have the correct Hsync and Vsync for you monitor in the XF86config
