Question How to reach to my mail box using text mode terminal


I want to download my yahoo mail but i dont know how to get to the mailbox, cant even logon, im useing suse 8.1 in text mode, i need to know the comands to reach to my mail box and then be able to see my mail and download the files that i have been mailed.

yahoo does not give u pop access for free so u cannot do that for free

and using lynx web browser u can try that

If your Yahoo account is activated for pop access, you could use pine to access your mail (e.g. from server pop.mail.yahoo.com). Another option could be the use of lynx, which is text-based browser. I have never used it and it may be a little tricky to finally read your mail.

Cool

I have just checked yahoo mail options (with another pc) and im able to set a pop3 acount i have all the data neded to do that, so knowing this what should i do to get the mail?

Try 'pine'. If you haven't used it before, it should guide you through the setup, where you enter all information about username, server, etc..
